Arrangements with the site for our 2010 conference are now complete. The Downtown Marriott at 75 South West Temple in Salt Lake City is excited to host our group Thursday evening, July 29th through Sunday morning, August 1st. The hotel boasts a great location in the center of downtown Salt Lake with dining and entertainment nearby. There is a large indoor/outdoor pool and they’ll be holding two conference rooms for use by our group.
For conference attendees, rooms at the hotel will cost $99 a night plus tax or for $109 a night plus tax the Marriott will include two adult breakfasts in the hotel restaurant along with the room. Ordinarily, adult breakfasts in the restaurant are $15 each so this is a nice discount.
These room prices are also available for check in as early as Monday, July 26th and as late as checkout Monday, August 2nd for those who would like to come early or stay a bit late to enjoy the city.
Not every room includes a microwave or refrigerator but those who would like them can request them for no additional charge when reservations are made.
Parking at the hotel for those who drive to the conference or rent a car will be $12 a day with unlimited reentry to the covered parking structure.
A shuttle to and from the airport will be available from a third party. The conference committee is negotiating prices for this and will have an update soon.
To make hotel reservations please call 1-800-455-8254. Remember to tell them you’re coming for the conference so you get the special group rate. The 2010 conference committee has reserved 35 rooms at the $99 or $109 rate and they will only be available until July 8th so please make your reservations now.

Conference Hotel Room Block Deadline Approaching!
The deadline to guarantee your hotel room at the 2009 Conference is July 1st!!!!
As of Saturday, June 27th, we have 37 rooms reserved for 28 families!!!! Our room block is for 55 rooms so there are rooms remaining.
However... on July 1st, the hotel will open up the remaining rooms to the public in an attempt to fill them with other guests. Thus, this means that the last day you are guaranteed a room AND the $109 rate is July 1st.
It may be possible to get rooms in our block after July 1st for the lower $109 rate, but it will only be while they last. We suggest reserving your rooms before July 1st even if you are on the fence about attending the conference as you can cancel the reservation at a later time.
Please email us at 1p36conference@gmail.com with questions.
Thanks! We cannot wait to see you all in Indy July 31st!!!!

1p36 Conference Blog Launches
With the 2009 Conference quickly approaching, the Planning Committee wanted to create a centralized way of collecting and publishing information about the conference to ensure all who are interested in the conference get the details they need. Thus... a blog!
The intent will be to utilize this blog each year to disseminate details of the annual conference. We will give it a shot this year and see how it goes!
Initially, we have included general information about the conference in the following sections:
2009 1p36 Conference Quick Facts - An at-a-glance view of all the pertinent information regarding the conference. Location, date, hotel reservation link, etc.
2009 Conference Documentation - A list of links to all the documentation we have created for the conference. All the same documentation that was originally published in the Files section of the Yahoo! Group, plus more. Flyer, Hotel Reservation Instructions, Registration Form, etc.
Helpful Indianapolis Links - Links to maps, websites, shuttle services, attractions, restaurants, etc. that may be very useful to you and your families during your visit to Indianapolis.
Posts - More information about the conference in the form of posts.
More will certainly come, especially around details of our group filling enough rooms to satisfy our contractual obligation for the two days at the hotel. We have reserved 55 rooms for each night at the $109 rate. Of those 55, we MUST fill 38 or be financially responsible for them. As of this writing, we have filled up 20 rooms for each night. Thus, we need to still fill 18 more rooms so do not have to pay extra. So... let's get those rooms filled!!!! We would rather have to go back to the Embassy Suites and ask for more rooms vs. pay for unused rooms.
Here is the link to reserve your room as part of the block for the 1p36 Conference at the Embassy Suites. If we don't fill up our rooms by July 1, 2009, the hotel will try to fill them for us. Thus, essentially our $109 group room rate is secure until July 1st.
We look forward to seeing you all in Indy!
